40th Birthday Invite

Today is my Husband's 40th Birthday. I made invitations for a Roast-or-Toast get together. We have the choice to either ROAST the old fart or TOAST to the next 40 years.
I know our friends will enjoy the chance to ROAST a good friend!

My husband is a SUPER FAN of football {he thinks he's the coach} so I made the background of the invitation look like a football field and, of course, there is no better line than the 40 yard line! This die is from Clear & Simple Stamps, TRI-FOLD DIE 1.

I used several stamp sets from Clear & Simple Stamps, too. The 40 yard lines were made with CREATE-A-PLAID background builder and the numbers are from ALPHA BOLD.

I used the 'Please join us for a' sentiment that's in the new set called BABY SENTIMENTS. These fun Thickers are from American Crafts. I decided to stamp the word 'OR' with my favorite stamp set, BITTY ALPHA MODERN, also from CSS. I like the way the Thickers and stamps look together.

I had to break out my two CSS football sets as well to help shape this invite: MVP and FOOTBALL. I used Copic markers W1, W2, W3 to color this whistle. I like the scribbled look. By blending the colors with one another it makes it almost look like watercolors. Very cool!
Let's open this bad boy up....

Inside. Below I briefly show you how I cut the die twice and attached one TRI-FOLD to the other to create a flap for a photo.

 I attached the gray die cut to the center of the main die cut and cut off the excess.

 I used as many stamps as I could!! I so LOVE stamping!!

I found the perfect photo for this invite. At 10 years old, he is wearing the same type of shirt he wears today... a Steelers shirt! Plus, my husband shoots guns for a living and here he is sporting a toy gun! Too funny!

I attached this elastic cord with just one staple and covered up the staple on the front by attaching the cut out whistle right over it! This took some fore-thought but I love the 3-D look and feel of the elastic cord.

 Now, flip open the gray die cut to reveal the Date, Time and Place. I used a sentiment from a set called PARTY ELEMENTS BABY to announce the occasion. I think it's funny to word it like this... we're happy to announce....

 I totally dig the funky look of the TIME, DATE, PLACE etc. It's Grungy and Modern to me. I used a couple stamps from an SU! set called Extreme Elements to help make this grungy- dude like- look. You dig?

Here's a view of the outside opened up. I love the 40 yard lines and the colors. It's made from chipboard! Cool right?!

And the back. A simple 'thank you' from BABY SENTIMENTS. I decided to date the back for a great keepsake feature. I will certainly scrapbook this invite!

And the front again. I am so looking forward to roasting my OLDER husband tonight with our friends. Happy Birthday to all and to all a good night. ;)

LOVE many things...

The sentiment stamp and pattern papers are from Stampin' Up. Die cut and needle image are from Clear & Simple Stamps On The Mend die and stamp set.  And the cardstock is also from CSS.

I got these fun alphabet stickers at the CK craft fair this past summer. Love them.

Thanksgiving

 This is one of my favorite sets from Stampin' Up! I love the way you can build a scene on this little rustic bench. This makes me want to tell you that I've been designing stamp sets that allow you to do just this. You are in for a treat, come January, at Clear & Simple Stamps.

Baby Reveal Party

I am going to a "Baby reveal" party tonight to find out the gender our friends baby! I can't wait to see the reveal method. Will it be a cake with pink or blue filling? Will their toddler be wearing pink or blue? Will the meal reveal the sex? I'm so excited! I can't wait to have a onesie decorating shower for my friend!! I'll be sure to post all the goodies we make!!

The answer was frozen inside of an ice cube. Everyone raced to find out the gender but we weren't allowed to bite the cube or run it under water. It was so funny watching people try to melt it in their mouths or hands. Brrrrrrr.

I pulled out the sewing machine for this little cutie. Nothing says baby like a little stitching. I love the Alpha Varsity alphabet set from Clear & Simple Stamps. It's works so well with so many different occasions .... even baby.

The pattern paper is Stampin' Up! and the sticker and chipboard element is from Cosmo Cricket.

Baby Cards

 I used Stampin' Up! stamps to make these super cute and simple baby cards.

 You can circle the date and month of the baby's birth.

They could even be birthday cards.

I used one of their stickers here. Isn't it perfection? I used my old oval SU! punch. It's a perfect match!

 I mixed up a little SU! and PTI..... love it, love it all!!

The butterfly is a die from SU! along with the pattern paper. And the scallops are a die from PTI as well as the blue pattern paper and the scrumptious little button! There are two things on this card that were headed for the trash. Can you guess what they are?

The cream linen rectangle with rounded corners is left over from a big print job at my local print shop. I have a ton of these. I use them all the time!!! The other thing that was headed for the trash is the wide, cream ribbon. It was wrapped around the curtains I got at Pottery Barn. You simply can not throw away good ribbon. I covered up the PB text on the ribbon. I normally let it show. It think it's cool either way!

I've had this awesome die cut Cupcake card from Creative Cuts & More for a while now.

This challenge motivated me to finally decorate it!

I used My Favorite Things Lollipop Girl from the Pure Innocence line. Isn't she adorable. The whole line of Pure Innocence stamps are to die for!
I want them all!

I used SU! outline stamps to stamp 'happy'.

There is a lollipop under that super cute brad. 

I colored the image with SU! watercolor pencils and a blender marker.

Here is my new favorite product.... ribbon tape! 

It's perfect for wrapping around boxes too!

Isn't this little girl stamp the cutest? 

She is from the Pure Innocence Collection.

She is actually holding a big lollipop but I just had to make this handmade flower. Instead of coloring her clothes I paper pieced them buy stamping the image on different pattern papers. I used Cosmo Cricket's Earth Love papers.

The background is the Lattice die from SU! I rubbed a little glue on it and sprinkled on some Martha Stewart glitter. So fun!

EMBELLISH color/butterflies challenge

My entry...

Clean and simple!

I used a craft card base, a little strip of leftover Clear & Simple Green with Envy cardstock, and some scrap linen cardstock in black. The sentiment is an old SU! rub-on and the butterfly punch is by Martha Stewart.

The background pattern is several different Papertrey Ink stamps.

 You gotta love clear stamps!!!
