Sew Saturday: cargo duffle bag

Welcome to the first Sew Saturday Series.

I want to recommit to my blog by starting this series of posts dedicated to sewing projects. I have many projects to share! Today we'll start with a bag I've been dying to make ever since the free tutorial came out, back in October

Also, over Christmas break I found yet another new craft, metal stamping. I finally tried it out and you'll see that little project (and supplies used) here too.

A special thank you goes out to the recipient of this bag for modeling.... Thanks KP!

Great color combo and I like what you did with the inside pockets! I just cut fabric this weekend to make myself one of these too.

What a beautiful bag. LOVE your fabrics and your metal stamp. I've been thinking lately that I might like to give that a try.

Just wondering what kind of zipper you used on your bag. I want to make mine with a colored zipper but I know the pattern calls for a 26" coverall zipper and I can't find them in anything but black and other neutrals. Thanks and great job on the bag, the colors you chose are fabulous together!

I think I found it at Joann Fabric.

I actually purchased them on Etsy. There are many shops to choose from that can print any size, shape, color fabric labels you need. I hope that helps. Thanks for the love!

Thanks Jennifer for stopping by.... I honesty do not know the difference between a cover all zipper and any other zipper. I just used a regular zipper from Joann Fabric. I try to keep a multitude of colors in my stash. The longer the better because you can always cut them down to size. I hope that helps.

Thank you for making this and sharing! I have been looking for the perfect bag to make for my sister-in-law and this is the winner! The fabrics you chose are so cute. I love the metal stamping on the zipper, too. Nice personal touch. I also love the fact that I have all the supplies in my stash! The only zipper I have that is long enough is one with two heads, so that's what i'll use. Free bag pattern and all!! Yay!
